Kailasagiri Arulmigu Subramani Swamy Thirukovilis situated atop Kailasagiri Hill, near Kedambur in Ambur taluk. This ancient temple, located in Tirupatur district lies approximately 7 kilometers from the Ambur railway station. According to legends and epics, Kailasagiri Hill holds immense significance as one of the oldest and most sacred hills, enriched with abundant herbal values. Initially, the presiding deity was Lord Shiva, but later, out of all-encompassing love for devotees, Lord Muruga took over as the primary deity, alongside his consorts Valli and Devanai.
Lord Murugan, the youthful and powerful Hindu deity, holds a special place in the hearts of millions. Revered as Murugan in South India, particularly by the Tamil people, he is also known by various names across the nation. His worship extends far beyond, encompassing a global following. Our temple itself has witnessed countless devotees find solace and healing in his presence. Many who have worshipped Lord Murugan here have experienced restored health, from lung and kidney ailments to joint pain. There's even a powerful testament of a devotee cured from cancer, a beacon of hope for all who seek the divine's blessing.
His other namas (names) are Subrahmanya, Shanmukha, Kaartikeya, Skanda, Kumara, Devasenapati, Saravanabhava, Guha, Swaminathan, etc. Kartikeya also known as Kartik, Kartika or Kartik Thakur, is also worshipped in West Bengal, and Bangladesh on the last day of the Hindu month of Kartik. He is the Lord of male-fertility and good harvest. He is portrayed as a handsome with bow and arrow in hand. Kartikeya is primarily worshiped among those who intend to have a son.
This temple has vast potential for development. However, due to limited funding, we haven't been able to move forward with our plans. If you're interested in supporting the growth of this house of Lord Muruga, either through donations or volunteer efforts, we'd be grateful to hear from you. Pleasecontact us
